A 'Gym Buddy' For Your Work Goals
Why work on your goals alone? Having other people involved makes it more enjoyable and easier to stay motivated. One way to do this is by setting up a 'gym buddy' for your goals, know as an accountability partnership.
An accountability partner, like a gym buddy, is someone who is there to make sure you push yourself and in return you do the same for them. But instead of working on your guns, you’ll be pushing each other towards your goals.
1. Reach Out
Send a message or share a post reaching out to those that might be interested. It’s recommended that you find an acquaintance over a close friend, as it will be easier to resist the urge to just catch up.
2. When, Where & How
What day of the week? What time? How regularly? In-person, via video or phone call? Make your decisions and then set a calendar event to remind yourself to show up. It’s key to be respectful of each other’s time.
3. Talking Points
Decide on the structure of the meeting, this may include updating and reviewing each other’s progress, exploring successes and failures, and setting clear tasks to achieve before you meet again.
